Cambodia Economic Growth Overview

Cambodia’s economy grew rapidly, at more than 8 percent per year, between 2004 and 2012. GDP growth slowed during the global cambodiaeconomic downturn in 2008-09 and then picked up again to reach a four-year high of 7.3 percent in 2012. Cambodia’s economic freedom score is 57.4, making its economy the 108th freest in the 2014 Index. Its overall score is 1.1 points cambodia-economic-freedomworse than last year due to declines in monetary freedom, business freedom, labor freedom, and freedom from corruption. Cambodia is ranked 23rd out of 42 countries in the Asia–Pacific region, and its overall score is lower than the regional average.

Cambodian Economist Network: Advancing your knowledge

The Cambodian education sector plays a key role in human resource development. It is one of the key sectors which mainly contribute to the social and economic development for every nation. However, there is limited gap in the Cambodian online academic resources, by realizing this gap and value, we are developing the Cambodian Economist Network (CamEconomist).

The Cambodian Economist Network is an independent platform which stores online academic resources and aims to publish ONE MILLION articles by 2025. In addition, CamEconomist also intends to enhance public opinion, share knowledge, develop academic resources and foster relationships among the Cambodian scholars, researchers, students, and the public in Cambodia and the world. It would bring about better understanding and critical analysis in the context of Cambodian politics, economy, society, and the world. CamEconomist was founded in July 2010 by Angkeara Bong. We officially launched our website www.cameconomist.info on 01 January 2015. Our vision and mission:

  • CamEconomist is committed to publish ONE MILLION articles by 2025 and promote the Cambodian online academic resources that allow the Cambodian scholars, researchers, students, and the public to have free access and experience online learning success to contribute to the future Cambodian development.

Mission:

  • To promote the future Cambodian online academic resources available for all through a comprehensive online stores initiative.
  • To develop a thriving Cambodian Economist Network and Professionals through the development of ideas, online resources and knowledge sharing.
  • To enhance public opinion, develop academic resources, and foster relationships among the Cambodian scholars, researchers, students, and the public in Cambodia and the world.

We believe that CamEconomist would enhance public opinion, share knowledge, develop academic resources, and foster relationships among the Cambodian scholars, researchers, students, and the public in Cambodia and the world.
